BIO
Sarah began her professional career in education. She received her undergraduate degree in History and Psychology, as well as her Master’s in Education, from the University of Rochester in upstate NY. After teaching middle school social studies for nine years, and experiencing acupuncture as a patient, Sarah felt called to change direction. She knows first-hand how acupuncture can positively transform someone’s life, and brings that passion for healing to her work with patients. Sarah also brings her past experience as an educator to help guide people along their healing journey. A lifelong learner, Sarah continues to study Asian Medicine and plans to expand her repertoire of healing modalities.

PHILOSOPHY
Sarah’s work stems from a deep desire to help people live healthier, happier, and more balanced lives. She is drawn to acupuncture because of her belief that everything—mind, body and spirit—is interconnected, which is also the fundamental philosophy of Asian Medicine. Seeing each patient as a unique individual, Sarah loves the fact that in Asian Medicine it is impossible to dismiss the individual in favor of the symptoms. There is no “standard” treatment since all treatments are tailored to the specific needs of each individual. Sarah works hard to establish an integrated, education based approach, which empowers patients to discover their own tremendous healing power and create wellness in their lives.

Sarah has been practicing PanGu Shengong, a style of Qigong (energy cultivation), daily for approximately three years which greatly enhances her personal well-being while also strengthening the power behind her treatments. Sarah is a compassionate and intuitive healer, and often incorporates Medical Qigong/Taoist Energy Healing into her treatments.

Description of other modalities I offer:
Medical Qigong/ Taoist Energy Healing:
Medical Qigong is based on Taoist principles of energy and intention, and uses the knowledge and discipline of Chinese medical theory to direct energy in an efficient and effective manner. The practitioner is trained to sense where blockages/deficiencies are located and heal by acting as a conduit for energy, sending the energy to the specific areas that need it. Medical Qigong can be done in person or long distance and is generally incorporated into Sarah's acupuncture treatments.

Tong Ren Energy Healing:
Tong Ren energy healing is a non-insertive energy therapy based on using the collective unconscious, as defined by Dr. Carl Jung, to remove energy blockages causing disease. Created by Master Tom Tam, of Quincy MA, this method is based on over 20years of his clinical practice and research and is currently being studied by Dana Farber/Harvard Medical Center. It is often used in treating difficult cases of cancer, MS, Parkinson's, etc. Tong Ren can be incorporated into Sarah's acupuncture treatments, and can also be done long distance/over the phone if desired.
